Byte the Mic 2026 – Inter-School Poetry Competition

Byte the Mic 2026 is an inspiring inter-high-school poetry competition bringing together talented young poets from across Uganda to showcase their creativity, confidence, and spoken-word excellence.

Under the theme “Guardians of the Mind: Navigating Social Media, AI & Youth Mental Well-being,” students will use the power of poetry to explore the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities that come with living in an increasingly digital world.

The Pilot Program – Edition One will bring together students, educators, parents, and poetry enthusiasts for a full day of powerful performances, meaningful conversations, healthy competition, and youth empowerment.

With 20+ schools and approximately 2,000 participants expected, Byte the Mic 2026 is more than a poetry competition—it is a platform for young Ugandans to find their voice, build confidence, develop lasting skills, and inspire positive change.
